the gold holdings, but soon after, gold saw the biggest drop in 30 years. we thought, bring him on. marc faber doom, gloom and boom report joins us from switzerland, home of the world of gold. mark, a sense of what happened with gold, and did you purchase it and get caught in the drop in gold prices shortly thereafter? >> caller: well, i've been buying gold for the last 30 years, and i buy every lump sum and keep allocations of 25% of the assets in gold, so on the drop, i bought some at 1400, and then i have been ordered to buy gold at 1300, but it didn't go down to 1300, and then it rebounded. now i think that we may take the lows again, so i'll by more. it doesn't worry me. in fact, the way i look at gold is like an insurance policy. it's an insurance policy against a loss of purchasing power of money, and if we look at the gold in a proper perspective since 2000, the s&p is up 1%. since 2007 the the s&p's about flat, but gold is up 420% since 2000 and about doubled since 2007. we are in a correction period, but it's not that bad. it's not that bad. the correction is apple. people lost

to get your reaction based on the news of the hour and this is significant. marc? >> yeah, it is. and, you know, what's interesting about this last 48 hours is that the fbi and the task force for the combined law enforcement task force has been trying to close on the suspects with any hot leads or relevant leads that they could -- that they could acquire, trying to identify a named suspect, the location, so they could close, surveil, perhaps follow and actually control the situation. and they actually went as far as they could without notifying the public. now they believe, i'm sure, that they are hopeful that they lived in the area for whatever period of time, weeks, days, months. but, i think they believe that they are probably on the move. i'm kind of surprised that they didn't tell the public what the logos on the hats were. young people, they notice that. they notice the logos and sometimes it means very much not to us as older adults but to kids, where they hang out. what they do. and where they might have got the hat. so, to me, that's something i wished i would have known. >>
